Because it is imperative to arrive at Botanical Beach near Port Renfrew
at the lowest possible tide, the order in which we see things during
the day changes from week to week.
Attractions seen during the day will include Goldstream Park, famous
for it’s spawning salmon (seasonal) and large areas of old-growth
trees. See Goldstream
Park>>.
We will also visit the Sooke Potholes, where nature has carved it’s
signature into solid rock. This is also where entrepreneurs are
attempting to build a world class resort overhanging the cliffs
of the Potholes. See Sooke
Potholes>>
The star attraction of the day is Botanical Beach near Port Renfrew
where we’ll check out the “condominiums” of marine
life found in the tidal pools there. You’ll also experience
the ferocity of the Pacific West Coast with its constant winds and
gigantic rollers. See Port
Renfrew>>
The drive to Botanical Beach winds along the west coast through
active logging areas and also through old growth forest. A unique
mix of Vancouver Island. |
