Day 1 – Tuesday, May 15th
You are picked up to begin your adventure to the Coasts of Washington and Oregon.
We catch the 1030 sailing from Victoria to Port Angeles, Washington, and then continue on to Hurricane Ridge, high in the Olympic Mountains, where you will enjoy lunch amongst the finest scenery in the world! From here we continue through Olympic National Park to check in to the Rainforest Resort Village, set on the shores of beautiful Lake Quinault. Tonight, we enjoy our first dinner together at the Salmon House Restaurant, known of course for....wait.....wait...SALMON ! But they have other great selections too. D
Day 2 – Wednesday, May 16th
We enjoy breakfast at the Internet Cafe and then we hit the Coast to breathe in the natural beauty of the Washington Coast and the Pacific Ocean. We’ll make a lunch stop in one of the gorgeous small communities and take time to explore. Early afternoon will find us crossing the famous 4.1 mile Astoria Bridge over the Columbia River. We are now in Oregon. We are going to check in to our hotel early, because a Historic Trolley car from 1913 is going to pick us up at the Hotel and give us a guided tour of the city of Astoria.
They will point out great places to eat because dinner is on your own tonight. B
Day 3 – Thursday, May 17th
After enjoying a delicious Continental breakfast at the Hotel, we continue South to Tillamook and the must see Tillamook Cheese Factory. Ever wonder what makes cheddar sharp versus extra sharp? How much milk a cow produces? You’ll find all the answers on your self-guided tour, with tons of interactive windows, videos, and other fun stuff along the way. We stay here for lunch at the Creamery restaurant. On down the Coast to the seaside town of Lincoln City, where we visit the Tangers Outlet with over 65 name brand name retail outlets. Shop till you drop! We’ll provide 2 shuttles
back to our hotel so you can get ready for your night out at the Chinook Winds Casino, right next to our hotel. CB, L
Day 4 – Friday May 18th
After Continental breakfast today, we check out of the Chinook Winds and make our way inland towards Portland. But first we’ll visit the Evergreen Space and Aviation Museum, home of the famous Spruce Goose aircraft, which is still on display here. The Museum transports you back when travel to the stars was just a dream, and then winds you through history from miniature rockets to the robotic spacecraft we know today. We will enjoy lunch at one of the onsite restaurants. Ponzi Vineyards is next on our radar! We’ll stop here for a tastings of their famous Oregon wines, before continuing on
In to Portland where we spend the night at the Monarch Hotel, close to numerous great shops and restaurants. CB, L
Day 5 – Saturday May 19th
We’ll enjoy another great hot, Continental breakfast, and then set out to explore the area. This morning, we view the unparalleled beauty of the fabulous Columbia River Scenic highways, Multnomah Falls, Crown Point and more. We return to Portland by lunch time to enjoy the tax-free shopping at Washington Square Mall. This premier shopping centre boasts five anchor stores, including Oregon’s largest Nordstrom, various dining opportunities and 170 distinctive specialty shops. We return to the Hotel in time to rest a bit because tonight we are going on a 2.5 hour Dinner Cruise aboard the
Willamette Star on the Willamette River. In bed by 10 PM! I’ll be checking! CB, D
Day 6 – Sunday, May 20th
Today is a travel home day. Enjoy a late breakfast if you wish, because we won’t leave till after 9AM. We will stop in Olympia for lunch and Sequim for an afternoon coffee, before arriving in Port Angeles to catch the 5:15 PM Ferry back to Victoria. Hope to have everyone home before 9 PM.Sounds like fun!
