Getting to Chemainus, Vancouver Island
AIR SERVICE:
Nanaimo
Airport>>
The Nanaimo Airport is about a 20 minute drive north of Chemainus. There
are several daily 15 minute flights from the Vancouver Airport to Nanaimo
Airport.
Victoria
International>>
The Victoria International is the closest International Airport and is
approximately a 90 minute drive from Chemainus.
Harbour
Air>>
Harbour Air operates daily seaplane service from Vancouver to several
of the Gulf Islands, which are only a short, scenic, ferry ride from Chemainus.

Ferries>>
BC Ferries provides extensive and reliable ferry services with frequent
and convenient scheduled runs between Vancouver Island and the Mainland.
You have a choice of arriving at either Duke Point or Departure Bay ferry
terminals in Nanaimo (30 minutes from Chemainus) or the Swartz Bay terminal
in Sidney, near Victoria. (90 minutes from Chemainus).
For a great Day trip from the region, BC Ferries also offers you the chance
to tour some of the Gulf Islands, with services from Chemainus to Thetis
Island, and from Crofton to Salt Spring Island.
Washington
State Ferries>>
Washington State Ferries leave from Anacortes, 90 miles north of Seattle
through the San Juan Islands to Sidney B.C. Once daily and twice in the
summer months, the scenic crossing takes about 3 hours. They take vehicles,
buses or motor homes and passengers. Vehicle reservations are recommended
and may be made online or by phone (206) 464-6400 Seattle, toll free in
state 1-888-808-7977.

Travels from Port Angeles, WA to downtown Victoria, B.C. This routes links
the Olympic Peninsula and Vancouver Island together for first come first
serve. No reservations are available.
There is NO Auto ferry service from Seattle to Victoria.

To make your travel more enjoyable and more convenient, Gray Line of Victoria
offers transportation from Port Hardy at the north end of Vancouver Island
to Victoria in the south. Numerous stops between the two locations mean
ample opportunity to get on or off the bus in many scenic locations.
